How to date someone who is bad at communicating via text...?

This guy [22M] I’m [23F] seeing is not very expressive at all via text message. Seems dry and uninterested via text, but is wonderful and animated in person. Conversations via text are usually short, sparse, and lack feeling. I’m used to people who are completely different
