Been contemplating asking out my (21M) crush (21F) but the problem is I've been out of the dating game for years. Got out of a long-term relationship (4 years) about 6 months ago so I'm definitely rusty with flirty small-talk.
I was considering sending her a message along the guidelines of "Hey ____, I think you're a cool person but we don't talk a lot, I'd like to take you out and get to know you better and if we have a good time, maybe we can go on an actual date. If we don't connect well, no problem and we can go our separate ways and hopefully remain on friendly terms." Any criticism for the message?
Also I have no clue where to take anybody for a first date except lunch/dinner, any other ideas where we could go and still be able to learn more about each other? I was thinking maybe a trivia night but that's not everybody's niche.
Thanks for any input and have a great day.
