Reddit I need some opinions for this pickle I found myself in!
I (30F) have been seeing someone (35M) for 2 months, I’m super unsure of where this is headed (peep my profile if you want more details lol) but long story short- I bought 2 tickets to the Lord of the Rings Fellowship concert in NYC on 2/7 wayyy back last year. I bought them not knowing who to go with and figured I would figure it out before the time comes.
Come to this sticky situation- the guy I’m seeing also loves Lord of the Rings and it’s something we’ve bonded over majorly. Although, being that we’re still so new to seeing each other, and we’ve been rocky this past week because neither of us are ready for labels just yet (and more), I feel like asking him to head into the city with me for a movie/concert is kind of a huge gesture that I’m not entirely comfortable suggesting. I do however, still want to go but I feel strange telling him “yeah I’m going to this concert of this series that we’ve bonded over so much alone (or) with someone else other than you.”
What shall I do, Reddit? I don’t feel comfortable inviting him, but I don’t feel comfortable hiding/keeping this from him either. If I invite him it may scare him from the large gesture, and if I don’t invite him it may make him feel that I don’t care for him.
(Edit: little detail I forgot to mention- this guy doesn’t really like “doing things.” I’ve suggested to him other activities and he’s always had an excuse about it being too far, or too expensive, or why don’t we do this instead. Take that for what you will.)
