A girl sat down next to me on a lecture where I knew practically no one. We began talking in between lecture breaks to fight boredom. Then she asked for my Instagram. Wasn't really sure why she'd ask but I handed her my @. Since I already built up some small talk with her that day, I texted her something relevant to the conversations the previous day, and I, got short replies and general disinterest from her side. Thought to myself that she was probably busy and gave it another shot few days later. Then I got left on read. Dunno if I'm misinterpreting signals but why would she ask for my soc media and then not even bother to text?
Another girl always greeted me and went out of her way almost every time we ran into each other on campus just to make some small talk and stupid jokes. I thought to myself these were all green flags. Tried to start a conversation with her online, but since the conversation was going slow I thought it would be better to ask her out right now instead. She said yes. Date wasn't too impressive but I've been on worse first dates. Tried to text her again but I still get a vibe that she's not interested because of the lazy replies. And she wasn't too particularly interested in a second date.
A different girl which I met at a party tried to take a candid picture of me. I didn't make a big deal about it but instead approached her and I got her number really easy. I shot a text at her the next day, and got left on read with the first message I sent. No conversation whatsoever.
I'm just confused. Why would they (supposedly) flirt in person but online it's as if a stranger slid in their DMs?
