I’ve [22F] only been dating this guy [26M] for around 6 weeks and his dad has just died, I’ve personally never been through a loss and I have no idea what to do/say.
We only just made the decision to become exclusive before his dad was unexpectedly rushed to hospital at the weekend so I’ve been doing my best to be supportive whilst things were uncertain.
It’s only been 6 weeks, I’m not a huge part of his life, we haven’t even labelled the relationship and I’ve never met his parents.
I want to be able to give him space to grieve with his family but also let him know I’m here if he wants anything. I don’t want to overstep or come off too strong but I also don’t want him to feel like he can’t talk to me.
I would really appreciate advice from anyone who has gone through a difficult loss on what I can/should do to help.
