Is it normal for people to disappear when the topic of meeting up comes up? Why?

So I've only just started in the dating app game. Can totally understand why it's weird and sucky tbh.

One of the most weird things I've started to come across is women just ghosting when the topic of meeting up comes up. It's like we have a chat, get to know each other a bit, and I say "hey why don't we do something together..."

And literally after that they disappear on me. What is going on? like we matched and we were having I think a pretty good conversation. Just seems weird when people are on a dating app. You kind of need to meet people to like understand a little if you are going to be cool for each other, no?

Does anyone know why this happens? Is the dating app game really worth it?
