I have been dating a girl for 2.5 years, she 48 and I'm 51. We get along great have some of the same interests and genuinely enjoy each other's company. About 18 months ago I suffered a knee injury that required surgery, still recovering. Recently my employer went out of business, worrying about my future, it caused some anxiety which affected me in a few ways. Recently she said that she thinks that she's ready to start dating again, we've had a few talks and I think my anxiety had an effect in the romance department. I took her hand and told her that I was in love with her and would win her heart back, she said just dont push or I will push her away. She said there is no urgency to date others but sometimes someone will approach her and she seems interested. We have had a few dinners since and she kissed my like we were still together. I know what she wants as a woman and have actually made some changes and know what she wants but she thinks that I might be trying too hard or it may be fake. After recently dropping 12 lbs I feel so much better mentally. We still text back and forth but it's different now, sometimes she will message Mr first and ask how me and my dog are doing. How do I show her the new me without being pushy. Tying to get back that emotional connection from her so she can see that my feelings and actions are genuine.
