There was a barista at a place I work. At first it was just cute jokes here and there, flirting and generally smiling and having fun while she makes coffee for me. She’s super smiley and funny all the time.
About 2 months I find out she has a boyfriend, no biggy not that into her. 3 to 4 months in the flirting goes up and we start I got her chocolates after she keeps talking about them being the best. No biggy just trying to be friendly and everything, I mean she hasn’t mentioned her bf in ages but I assume they are still together.
After 5 and half months I finally wrote my number down on a piece of kitchen roll for her, after a week of nagging her to text me she did (all of this was done in a friendly way). We start to text quite a lot from the mornings into the evenings. But after a while I start to recognise she keeps dropping hints that she might be single, like her cleaning the flat singing “all by myself” and joking that she’s like Bridget Jones, and the fact she wants to move to California.
After flirting around with her for ages she starts to become a little colder etc. So after a few weeks a friend told me she had broken up a long term relationship and told me she knew I like her (my friend knew I liked her also), and that we talked a lot and she needed space.
At the same time however her employers decide to move her to another barista spot in the city so now she doesn’t work close to my work. So now any face to face communication is probably gone. However the area is small so we might bump into each other but it looks unlikely.
Also help to say that I don’t know her friendship group too well but I don’t know if she has anything into this city for her anymore.
Question: should i just forget about her? What should I do reddit?
TLDR; found a cute coffee girl at my work who had boyfriend, they broke up, she moves from my work.
