Is it possible to have a very strong connection and physical attraction to someone, but not want a relationship with them?

Being a woman, I'm wondering how men especially think about these sorts of things. Have your ever met someone you were almost instantly attracted to, and had a very strong connection with, only for a relationship to not pan out? For whatever reason- whether personal or family issues, already in a relationship when you met them, etc. Curious to hear your stories and any responses from you all, thank you.
