How do I even start a conversation

I’m 17m from the UK and I don’t even know how to start conversations with people online, I just don’t know how to do the whole dating thing, I’ve never even kissed anyone, everyone I’ve ever crushed on doesn’t like me back and I end up attracting people I’m not interested in, I don’t even know how to make advancements in real life, like physical touching I don’t want to do, not even a touch on the arm or anything because I don’t want to make them uncomfortable, I don’t even know the difference between flirting and joking most of the time, someone please help
