Yes I’m aware of the age gap hence why I’d love to get some insight into the minds of older men when it comes to dating with the intention of LTR/marriage.
I’ve been consistently having failed dates in which the guy becomes inconsistent after date 1. However, I went on a first date with someone who seems promising. I say that because—
- he vocalized during our date a movie to watch for the next time we hang out
- during our date, I did not have to read hard to know he was interested. I’m usually the touchy one but he was very hands on with me
- he really took care of me in bed and I’ve never been spoiled that many times before
- he made me a cranberry drink and reminded me to pee so I wouldn’t get a UTI which I thought was very thoughtful
- I had no expectations of staying the night but after the sex, he didn’t kick me out, instead we cuddled on the couch and watched a movie until we fell asleep (yes it’s common nowadays to expect to leave after sex!)
- he’s going away for work all of next week but said we would have our movie date when he gets back(confirming that it wasn’t a bluff!)
So now I just have to go through this next week of no talking since he isn’t the type to stay in touch via text/call (understandable since he lived a good chunk of life without phones) and see how it all plays out. My issue is overthinking the worst possible scenarios which leads to self sabotaging. How to tame my mind to chill? I don’t expect him not to date others and we’ve not had that talk yet but I did tell him that I don’t date multiple at once(I don’t recall his response)
Any insights from men his age? Ever felt this way and did it mean actual pursuit of interest?
Ps: he couldn’t have a wife since I saw his place
Pss: this could also just seem like mature dating which I’m not familiar with (I’ve been single for 3 years)
