So, I finally gathered the courage to ask this girl out. But her response was something like this: 'I have a pretty busy summer, not sure if I'll have time, etc.' I told her that I understand and will ask her later. I know it's a rejection, but just to be 100% sure, I asked her one more time if she has time. I got a similar answer: 'Not sure, busy, plans are often changing, etc.' I asked her about only the next two weeks, and I get it; it's a rejection. If she wanted to go out, she would have suggested another time, right? I also understand that she didn't want to hurt my feelings.
Now, my question is how do I reply politely and respectfully, making sure she doesn't feel uncomfortable, and letting her know that it's totally okay. (I don't know if this is important, but I won't see her for another 7 months.) My idea for a reply is something like this:
''Oh, that's a bummer/That's totally fine. I hope you will enjoy the rest of the summer.'' (My idea is to wish her a great summer and indicate that I won't worry her anymore.)
