A little context, I dated "Charlie" for like three months last year. After a few weeks, I knew it wasn't a good fit mostly due to how emotionally immature he was. He was super clingy, got upset over the tiniest things, hounded me for sex constantly and was moving WAY too fast for me. I tried to end things a few times, but he would cry and beg me not to, so I relented. I finally ended it like a month after my first attempt, he got really upset and unfollowed me on social media, I sent him an e-mail saying sorry, haven't spoken since.
One of his friends that I met through him at a party graduated with the same degree that I have and when I was dating Charlie I offered to help him apply for jobs at my company. A few weeks ago, another posting came up so I texted him and we chatted a bit. We ended up meeting so I could help him prep his application and I think we hit it off. I wanted to see if he wanted to hang out again but I'm not sure if it's a bad idea due to my history with Charlie. Honestly, we dated for such a short period of time, it was obviously a bad match and I thought I handled it well, but Charlie was SO invested WAY too soon and took it pretty badly. I was also his first "girlfriend" since college (we're in our mid/late 20s).
Any advice?
