TLDR: me (33 M) matched with this girl
(30 F) on hinge who says she is attracted to non-monogamous people. I’ve been dating non monogamously for years and I find it attracts a certain kind of “spicy” person. People who have a proclivity for hotness in life, if you will. At least the impression I got from her profile was that she was probably one of these types of non-monogamists?
In New York right now all the bars and restaraunt are closed because a massive blizzard so after we I liked her prompt explaining how she likes to date ENM… we matched and I opened with “What if we skipped the first date and went straight to snuggling on a couch in the middle of a snow storm?”
I didn’t get a screen grab but she got very upset and said that she thought it was really disgusting that I would invite her over to a total strangers house to fuck right after matching. That she couldn’t believe I thought she felt that low of herself.
I totally own that it was a super forward opening line… but my intention was to be cute and spicy with this opening line. The snow is magical, everywhere is closed… I had hoped to put in her mind a cute (if a little sensual and romantic) image of two people drinking tea and being cute on a cold winter’s day.
I attempted to apologize for the misfire. I wasn’t trying to speak down to her in anyway. In fact I was surprised how upsetting the line was for her. But she told me she took a screen grab and unmatched?
Did I fuck up?
