I (23F) started a job a few months back with a bunch of new starters. I quickly gained a crush on E (23M). E is a very outgoing guy. At first, I didn't think E had any feelings for me, I figured he was just friendly, but the more time I spend with him, the more I'm questioning if maybe he likes me back. I'm slightly worried I'm just looking at it through rose coloured glasses, and there's nothing there. E will do things like make prolonged eye contact when talking, even if we're in a group. He'll look at me whenever he's made a joke, even if I wasn't part of the conversation. He'll also constantly try to include me in conversations when I'm being more on the quite end (I have social anxiety which E knows about so i think hes just trying to get me out my bubble)
My issue is I've been thinking about asking him out for a while, but there are a few cons to doing it. Firstly I have to sit with him every day at work and I don't want to make it awkward. Secondly the group of new starters (which includes him) are pretty much my only friend group since moving here for the job, so I'm worried if it becomes awkward it will hurt the only friend group I have here (the group is closer with E than me so it would likely mean I'd be left out). Finally, he's mentioned briefly that he doesn't rekon he'll be at this job for long since its not his ideal job, so even if he does like me back there's no guarantee it would work in the long run
I don't want to make things awkward, but I also really want to know how he feels. Should I try to ask him, or just try to get over the crush to avoid the awkwardness it could bring?
