Hey Reddit. For those of you familiar with Friends, this is somewhat of a Monica and Richard situation minus any glorious moustaches.
My (23F) BF (23) and I (together 3 years, always saw us getting married to each other) were talking, once again, about kids and whether or not we want to have them. He strongly believes he will not be happy in life if he does not become a father. I, on the other hand, love kids but never want any of my own.
I think the world is overpopulated and kind of a shitty place with climate change and horrible world leaders; also don't really see the need to give birth to be content with my life. I don't want to spend a fortune raising a child when I could use that money otherwise and I don't think I want the mental stress of having a kid either.
Last night, we realized this is a deal breaker for both of us. Even though we love each other a lot, he won't be with me in the long run unless we have a kid or two.
Now we've reached an impasse so much so it's driving me to make this post at 3 in the night. Is it even worth being together if you know your relationship will eventually end some day?
Sorry about the long post. Please don't try to convince me about how kids are miracles or how I'll change my mind when the maternity instincts kick in. I REALLY DO NOT WANT KIDS.
