I swear sometimes it feels like the entire opposite sex is punking me.
As far as steady relationships go, I'll admit I'm not the world's greatest success story. One of the main reasons, I suspect, is that I'm just simply not good at keeping texting banter going unless I'm genuinely interested in you. Likewise, in my experience girls generally aren't that great at it either. Eventually it just stops.
But I swear, one thing I've noticed as a constant throughout my life, is girls who are in relationships tend to talk to me a LOT. I don't know what it is, but the second they have someone significant in their lives, that conversation rarely ever dies. Suddenly I'm getting texts back, suddenly they find interesting things to say, suddenly they're the ones making conversations. You know, all the things you would expect from a mature person your age.
But sadly, I have respect for boundaries. Call me old fashioned, but I find it in extremely poor taste to hit on someone you know is in a relationship; so it never really bothers me. But today, it happened again. Coworker I've talked to for months, who's been steadily dating the whole time, talks to me a lot. Which is fine. But then today, sends me a pic of herself out of nowhere with no context. At that point, it's hard to deny there isn't something more there.
It's pretty widely known that girls chase guys who are dating (scarcity principle, etc.), and guys chase women in general; likewise girls and guys sabotage each other's relationships all the time. You just don't expect to see it from taken women.
After awhile it just makes me wonder, is this like a thing with committed girls?
It's a real shame I'm not a homewrecker, because I have a pickup line that would shatter relationships and I bet works 3/4 times
TLDR : I couldn't get a girlfriend to save my life, but I bet your girlfriend is texting me at work.
