Is it worth it to wait when your ex says “they’re not ready for a relationship?”

23F. Been with the ex for about 2 years.. he dumped me in May. I’ve been seeing him here and there this whole time...he keeps saying he’s not ready for a relationship. He said he wants to work on himself as his mental health isn’t okay. He always flirts with people on social media but.. idk. Am I being strung along? We’ll hang out and it seems everything is fine. He barely messages me or calls. I’m the only one that reaches out. We’ll spend the nights together sometimes then I go snooping on his social media and he just asks other people on dates but tells me he WANTS to try to fix our relationship. He’s supposed to see me in 2 hours today. I’ve had the worst anxiety when I looked at his profile earlier. My friends have told me I may have Stockholm syndrome... that relationship was mentally and emotionally abusive. I was not the abusive one. Everything seemed okay.. I just don’t know. I keep my mental health spiraling out of control again as it did when he left

Edit: this is the second time he’s left me to “work on his mental health”
