Shortly after starting a new job a few months ago, I asked a coworker out for a coffee date. We barely knew each other at that point. She politely declined, and said she isn’t dating right now because she is dealing with quite a bit. I wasn’t invested since I didn’t know her well so it didn’t bother me. We continued on as if it didn’t happen.
So now, two months have passed since then. We’ve gotten to know each other much better. I can tell she trusts me and likes me, but not sure of the context of how she likes me. There’s tons of signs that I could interpret as her liking me, such as her mannerisms around me, the types of conversations we have, etc. However, I have a bad track record of misinterpreting things as signs of interest.
So, since I’ve already asked her out before and was rejected, how should I go about trying to figure out if she likes me after time has passed and our relationship has developed? Should I just ask her out again?
