So I started my first relationship at 26 and lost my virginity at 27. The relationship wasn’t great as there wasn’t any love on either of our parts, he ended up being quite rude to me and didn’t make an effort, never saw me on birthdays etc.
We ended things near the start of this year and I started online dating (even though I’m not a fan as I prefer a more natural approach to meeting people as I’m quite shy). I recently went on 3 dates with this guy who I’m attracted to but haven’t been entirely sure about the long term potential. I however, ended up kissing him on the first date and then went round to his on the second and engaged in some sexual activity.
I asked whether he was looking for something casual or serious and he just basically said he’s just seeing what happens. We then recently went on a third date and spent the day together and ended up back at his. He’s only the second person I’ve ever been naked in front of and I ended up going quite far but we didn’t sleep together. We did end up trying to but it didn’t work out. I’m also pretty sexually inexperienced so this is a fairly big deal for me. I ended up leaving his very late and then today I get a message to say he’s been thinking about it and that he is looking for something casual.
This jut feels like a kick in the teeth and I feel quite upset, even though I wasn’t completely sure about the long term potential anyway. I think because I got quite intimate and he’s only the second person I’ve done that with and I’ve only met him three times. I’m just glad we didn’t actually have sex but I just still feel quite upset and actually feel like no one will love me. I’m 29 and have never experienced romantic love. Please can anyone offer some advice as I just feel awful. Thank you.
