Have you ever fallen in love with someone you friendzoned (had no feelings for) before? If so, why?

I'm not asking for advice, as I'm not in this situation, but someone very close to me is, so don't try to give advice as i have already told him everything you would write here. I'm just interested in hearing about other's experiences.
