Hello everyone, my name is Ricky and I'm a 22 year old college student currently studying Journalism and Creative Writing. I will be receiving my B.A in Journalism in a few years and I'm on the Autism Spectrum. While I do have an anxiety disorder and depression that I'm working hard with professionals on getting better from, I felt inside that I would not be the ideal man for a girl or a woman. Just having the conditions makes me feel bad about myself sometimes and I'm just doing my best to take care of my family, myself, and being there for all of my closest friends. I'm a hard worker and I'm someone who's always trying to learn and improve at my craft. I do struggle with flirting and when it comes to social settings I can be very confused which can be hard to deal with.
I came to this community today to ask if there's anyone else on the spectrum or if they have anxiety and managed to find a girlfriend. There's a lot of societal pressure to find someone and it can take a toll on you mentally when you're being face to face with that constantly. I work out at the gym and I'm working hard every day to improve my writing and my mental health. I can describe myself as handsome, strong, and kind-hearted. I'm the kind of person to care about others and stand up firmly for what I believe in. I'm accepting towards others and I don't hurt other people just because they're weaker or they're struggling. I understand them and I try to relate to them as best as I can.
Making this post certainly was challenging because I'm not sure if it would be received with understanding or ridicule. But I hope my post was thought-provoking and interesting. If you comment, I'll be more than happy to reply with my gratitude. Thank you.
