Howdy everyone, I just want to share a recent experience that has impacted my perspective on dating.
I am a very passive person, I hate confrontation, and I always try to see the best in people and give people the benefit of the doubt. But I have learned it’s OK to be selfish sometimes and it’s OK to not be nice at all times to protect my safety.
I went on a date with a guy and we went back to my place together for some good fun. When I drove him back home in the morning he started talking about how he wanted me to be his girlfriend. I thought that’s very quick, but oh well, maybe he’s just being upfront.
He messaged me nonstop calling me “baby” and “his girl” and how he really wanted to see me again. I was nervous to cut it off so I just told him I was too busy to see him again. (Mistake.)
Then on Friday night I got a message from him saying he was coming over to my place. I was like wtf… I didn’t respond back, and then he said he was outside my apartment and started calling me nonstop. I was so nervous but I ignored his calls and stayed up all night.
Next morning I blocked him, still rattled. This is a learning experience for me that it’s okay to not be nice in certain circumstances, and the importance of being upfront. And also, there are dangerous people out there! Stay safe yall.
