I've had serious relationships with poor teachers, rich startup founders, and comfortably middle class engineers. None ever seemed to care how much I made. Some of them even said they wouldn't care if I was broke. To be fair, I'm comfortably middle class and I'm a big saver. I'm constantly cognizant of money, but if I ever need something I'm fine and if I really want something reasonable, I can generally afford it, and my future is comfortable. But I also usually go dutch, and I don't spend a lot on expensive gifts. Obviously there's some selection bias, where gold diggers won't be chasing me, but has anyone else found that women seem to care surprisingly little? I always thought women care how rich you are, but it always seems to be the last thing on their mind in my experience.
