I (f26) should mention that I have an anxious-style attachment when dating but I never let that interfere with how I communicate. Meaning, I only text when responding to someone’s message.
I guess I’m curious how normal it is for a guy to change his frequency of texting once he becomes more comfortable with someone. I’ve been out twice with a guy I’ve known since HS and he’s always so sweet in his texts, but I’ll admit that they used to be much more frequent in the beginning (in about a month of talking). I’m leaving for a week-long trip on Sunday and he’s expressed to me that he’s definitely interested in meeting up again once I come back, but I don’t know how to process someone texting back much slower than they used to without getting a bit nervous. I try to think how a securely-attached person would think and I’m pretty sure that since I’ll be away on vacation, it’s normal to not have much to talk about besides the occasional check-in. That being said, I know that I’m very anxious and I tend to overthink everything so I’m open to being told to relax haha.
