Apparently walking dates are hugely debated in the dating world...I (40F) didn't know this. Also, I live in a country where according to Reddit, walking dates are very popular and a good way to vibe check and get to know people before investing in them. I read that men pay for wining and dining the ladies they meet online only to be ghosted after?
I met a guy (49M) on a dating app and he asked if we could have a walk and some wine. Sure, I'm very well aware this was a simple vibe check date to see if we mesh. During the walk, I asked him how come he chose "wine & walk" and he said "I don't know, it seemed like something that people do."
He then texted saying "I'd love to see you again. When are you free to get together?" and I suggested a date/time next week, to which he replied "Thursday works. Let's meet at 5:30 and take a walk."
We got along well and had fun conversations during the vibe check walk/wine meetup last week. I was kinda expecting him to ask me out on a proper date (dinner) a nice, casual eatery.
How many walking dates before I need to cap it and say "I'd love it if you asked me out on a real date." Or should i just say this to him when we meet next week?
