Me (26F) and this guy (30M) matched on a dating app 4 days ago. We have talked almost everyday, except for one when we were both busy. We have had hours long text conversations and are planning to meet. He asked me how many people I was currently talking to, out of curiosity, and I told him I had 5 matches I had open convos with but that him and I were having the most in depth conversations, and I hadn’t met any of these people yet because I got the app a week ago. Mind you, I get like 200 likes a day so I felt like I was still being pretty selective. He was like okay cool that doesnt bother me.
Then, the topic of monogamous vs open/poly dating came up and I was like tbh I have tried open but I’m definitely monogamous and only want one person and I joked about how hard it would be to fit more than one person into a busy schedule. Then he asked well how do you juggle multiple convos? “No judgment, I just personally don’t start a new convo until one is finished” and I was like well idk I’m not like having full blown convos with 5 people simultaneously.
Then, yesterday he mentioned he deleted the app. I haven’t, and I actually was hoping to meet for coffee with 2 other people I matched with but I feel like because him and I have been talking so in depth and want the same things in terms of a committed monogamous relationship that I should be focusing on just one person? Is this normal?
