I was dating an avoidant and she pretty much would barely communicate as much as I said its okay to do so. She said she felt I had unrealistic expectations of her which were just communication and letting me know when she got home after late night soccer events. When she did communicate on any thing she doesn't like or something I did, I usually did my best to give her what she needed/wanted because I really like her company and we got along great, I felt. She told me when we broke up that its exhausting and she was walking on eggshells because of how "offended" I got to what she would do. No offense was taken and I told her each time I just wanted to clarify what she meant.
I feel she wasn't ready for a relationship, she was out of them for quite a long time, and shut down when I showed affection and the support I felt she deserved. She also started getting harassing texts from random numbers that seemed to be aimed towards wanting her to cheat on me that probably overwhelmed her which is pretty unfortunate and didn't help any causes. Could be my psychotic ex or a jealous pos.
Anyway, I'm not looking for advice to get back with her, as much as I would love to, but more of what to do if I ever start dating another avoidant that I really like.
