First i want to say i know "dont overthink it and move on" which i have in regards to this particular date but im still curious about the flip in general. I also know people are entitled to change their minds and thats fine, but im interested in understanding the male brain a bit better
I (35F) talked to a guy (37M) for a week he said he was super excited to meet, we live about an hour apart and met half way - never voiced distance as an issue
Date lasted 3 hours, just had a couple drinks. After the date we walked to our cars and he says "can i get your number" as we hadd been just talking on a dating app up to that point
He texts ne right away as soon as we both get home and sends compliments saying he thought i was smart and funny and he alludes to a 2nd date twice saying we should go out again and next time we will go for food. i agreed. I fell asleep so didnt respond to his last message.
The next day i asked him how his day was going and he took a long time to respond and then said "logistically i think this would be hard for me" i assume he was using the distance as an excuse but i didnt even bother to ask what he meant by logistically.
I just said thanks for the honesty. I added that asking for my #, sending compliments and asking me out again and waking up with a whole different mindset was confusing and maybe warrants some reflection on his part. He responded shortly "i agree, apologies"
I just unmatched and moved on on without any further discussion.
I dont care if someones not into me, thats just dating.. but this whiplash is so confusing.. if youre a 30+ male dating have you ever had a mental switch like this.. what was your reasoning and thought process ?
