Finally made my elementary/middle school/freshmen year friend my non-official girlfriend. How can I maintain the relationship and even get one step ahead.

I finally have my long school friend my unofficial girlfriend (unofficial because of how we do no go over holding hands and talking a lot about each other. I feel we are too young for a “official” relationship, so do you guys have tips on how to make her feel special and maintain a good relationship, and even get one step ahead when I am ready?
