So for background context, I used to work with this guy for a few years until he got a career in a different field. We would talk at work, but never outside of work. It’s also probably worth mentioning that I’m pretty shy (less so now but still shy) and he knows that.
A few months ago, right before covid, we matched on bumble and had a brief conversation (about 12 messages). I fell asleep and when I eventually answered later the next evening he didn’t respond. My last message was very short and generic and I’ve been regretting the whole situation for a while. I basically wish I put more effort in because he asked questions but I didn’t. I’m also not defending his lack of response, just giving you all info so read it as you wish.
My question is... can I do something to make a move or would it be weird because it was so long ago? And if I do make a move, do I message him in the app or text him? Just start a conversation or go all out and ask if he’d like to get a drink or something? And if I start a conversation what do I even say? I realize I’m asking a lot of questions for a situation that can likely end in rejection, but I also don’t want to miss a chance because I’m being a chicken. I’m also inexperienced when it comes to dating.
