So a couple of weeks ago, I made a positive comment towards how I appreciated my boyfriends physical form even if he was a little chubby, now he made a joke about it with his family causing his sister to get upset and put out her opinion out about ” if someone called her chubby she’d break up with them” and now I wasn’t at the scene to hear it myself but to see my boyfriend and his mom conversing about it over text about what happened and they said she was going to the extreme about it and then his mom told him that his sister believes he could do better than me. now this stems from the fact that I’m not considered someone who’s outgoing to her and truthfully I am but I don’t take someone’s family as something unimportant or to brush off lightly in a relationship especially in their home. Even though I tried to have a conversation with his sister she’s completely deadpan or changes a topic that I get left out of or not in my place to say anything. In general Idk how to get close with his family or sister in a lighthearted manner. I’m just concerned about his family being the reason we can longer continue the relationship in the future. And I always think about how people can get offended in conversation but never tell me the problem. My boyfriend didn’t tell me that she said it but I found out on my own.
