Why do guys only respond once a day but don’t let the conversation die

I’m a F, and this keeps happening to me. Guys will only respond once or twice a day, but each time they respond they send a huge paragraph asking me a bunch of questions about me and my life, and seem very interested and don’t let the conversation die even if I try to. But only respond once a day.... why
