Taking things personally

I'm a 27 year old guy that's taking a lack of success personally. I know that you're not supposed to let other people's perceptions of you define you, but I don't know what it is that's turning people away and if I did know I would work on it.

One or two interactions that fizzle out I can put down to incompatibility, but consistently getting ghosted (online) or ignored (in person) has me feeling like there is something wrong with me beyond what I'm insecure about, and it's really hurting my self esteem.

Despite being short, I don't think I'm bad looking, as well as being relatively fit and active. I get told pretty often that I'm funny and "have an interesting way of looking at the world" I don't think I'm "creepy" whatever that is supposed to mean these days, and I don't pressure women into things they don't want or not respect their decisions.

So what am I missing here? I need some direction in which areas to improve myself.
