How to say no to hanging out?

I'm attracted to someone I've hung out with a few times and it makes me act weird around him. He already expressed that he's attracted to me but I rejected him because he came onto me really strongly and it overwhelmed me.

He asked me if I want to hangout soon (after us not speaking for weeks). I'd prefer to never speak to him again because I don't see this going anywhere (I can't be friends with him because I'm not myself around him, I don't want to hookup with him, and we are too different for a relationship). It would also make things easier because when he texts me I remember that I have a bit of a crush on him.

I'm kind of confused how to express this to him, or if I even should. Do I just say I'm busy and hope he gets the message? Do I tell him straight up? I'm very blunt so I would naturally say something like "Honestly I find you very attractive so I don’t think I’m the best choice for a friend. Sorry". Should I be less forward? We haven't seen each other in a long time.

To give context, we met on a make new friends chat.
