Falling for a friend who's getting his life together

I (24F) have had a crush on a friend (23M) since I first met him through a mutual friend about 6 months ago. We had a few good conversations since, but he went off for a training course for a few weeks, where he started dating a girl. They've been long distance for most of the time, and it's affected them enough that he's decided to call it off.

Him and I didn't meet often, but are very compatible in terms of humour, values, culture, etc. We've been meeting up almost every day the past one week, and of the various conversations we've had, one that came up was how I have always had a crush on him (and still do), and he really liked me when we first met, but got busy with the course and later his girlfriend.

He's ambitious, and has a lot he wants to do in terms of supporting his family, building his career, pursuing higher education, and making a positive impact in the world. In a recent conversation, he was talking about how while he also really really likes me, he's not in the mental or emotional state to get into a relationship right now. He's going to be getting out of a 4 month relationship, while also furthering his career and professional skills.

I'm in a place in my life where I'm working, financially stable, and can socialise with friends everyday. I'm looking to date someone aeriously, and not just as a "we'll see where this goes" relionship.

While I respect that he's going through and wish only the best for him, I don't know how to move on with meeting him and talking to him. I cherish him as a friend, but I have no idea how to go ahead.

TLDR: Crush is trying to accomplish some big life goals, and while we hang out almost every day as friends, neither of us is able to move away form these feeling.
