Male, 22: I feel like for the past two years, I’ve been stuck in this cycle of back-to-back situationships—probably around five. Every time, things start off great. I know how to flirt, keep the conversation going, and build attraction in the first few dates. But then, around the three-month mark, something shifts. I run out of things to say, my mind just goes blank, and I can literally feel the vibe change. It’s like I go from being this outgoing, witty, interesting guy to suddenly quiet and low-energy, almost like I did a complete 180.
At that point, they usually start asking why I’m so quiet, and that’s when I start opening up—not even about them, just about life in general. I catch myself talking about how I’m not where I want to be, getting emotional, and overall just feeling drained. But the truth is, I don’t have much to say anymore, i ran out of topics or things to talk about, so i unwillingly go into auto rant mode and start blaming my life problems. Once I burn out, the connection starts slipping away.
Has anyone else been through this? Is this normal, or am I just overthinking it? How do i flip my mind to keep coming up with topics or convos whether with women or friends?
