A few years ago (~2 years)me and this girl really hit it off right before summer. Since it was towards the end of school I didn't know how it was going to work out since I would be moving back home for the summer. She definitely wanted more but it was just super bad timing, I had recently had a life changing injury that altered my career path (lost full ride scholarship and due to this injury I couldn't have my dream job) and I was just in a bad place that I didn't know which way my career could go and I was overall just stressed and overwhelmed about it all that I didn't want to get into a relationship because I felt I didn't have my shit together. I never really told her my problems or made myself vocal. Towards the middle of that summer we stopped talking. Forward to now I am much better and my career path is looking great and I just am really starting to see the upsides to my future. I decided to text her (about a month ago), we started a little bit of small talk nothing much then it just ended. I really did like her, and now that I'm doing great for myself I feel that I am interested in a relationship.
She ended up texting a week later wondering why I reached out. I had a chance to apologize bc that has been something I’ve been meaning to do. And we started back on small talking and I’m a super shitty texter so it ended up not continuing a few days later.
A few days after that convo ended I asked what she was doing the next weekend to see if she wanted to get drinks or something. She texted back saying she was throwing a party so she was busy. She did text back a questions that did show there was a little interest but once I answered that she liked the message a few hours later and didn’t say anything. I decided at that point to give space.
It’s been a month since we last texted and I just can’t get her out of my mind. I’ve asked female friends for their opinion and they think the situation it weird too because why would she reach out again after a week if there wasn’t the slightest interest. I really want to try things again with this girl. I want to take her out but I don’t think I should do it soon bc it might come a little too forward being that valentines is around the corner. Should I ask soon (maybe ask her what she is doing on valentines) or just wait or don’t contact again. Give me advice or things I could say to reach back out
