I know we’ve all heard “looks aren’t important, it’s the personality that matters.” I think we can all agree that personality is way, way more important, but I don’t feel like trivializing looks altogether. I’m a 17 year old male, I’m not the most attractive or experienced, but there’s been times when I’ve been attracted to the personality of someone (for example, they were really sweet, nice, funny, etc), but I just couldn’t be attracted to them physically.
I also feel as if people focus on looks first when they’re decided on whether to be interested in someone or not. Honestly, I can’t help but feel like a shallow asshole when I say that I believe looks are important, or at least, that they play a bigger role than what people normally say.
While a physically attractive person may make an interesting fling/one night stand. I feel as if finding someone with an attractive personality will make a relationship more successful. But then again, if you’re not physically attracted to that person who has an amazing personality, then what’s the point?
I don’t know, I feel like a shallow dick, but at the same time I feel looks are important, at least to me.
