Most of us have had a crush at some point in our lives. A cute guy from work, a girl someone met at a party etc. At first it's nice to have a crush. You feel happy, excited, trying to get to know the new person. You are just looking forward to just bump into them soon, feeling hopeful that you build rapport.
At some point though, things may not progress and the happy crush you once had, turns into an obsession. Suddenly you may panic that you may not see that person again, thinking too much about your interactions and maybe rushing to make a move out of desperation.
I [28F] have had the obsession stage a couple of times in my life and it is annoying. I miss the more happy and carefree early stage of having a crush and I don't know why it turns into an unhealthy thought.
Has anyone managed to keep the unhealthy part at bay and not overthink about the crush thing ? How did you do it?
