First a little bit of context:
Me (22 M) and my crush (22 F) have been attending the same University for almost 3 years. I saw her on some classes before the pandemic and after pandemic but I had never talked to her. This year I started talking with her around the time of our lecture. I talked with her and her female friends a lot. All of them are nice and polite. My crush has the same interests as me (books, MCU, movies etc.) so I thought I would try to ask her out. However I always was too awkward when we were talking one on one and I didn't want to ask her in front of our mutual friends.
One day I asked her if she has plans after exams. She said she wanted to start working and rest after studies. I asked her wether she would like to go to the cinema (I didn't mention I have a crush on her) She said she would, but she needed to find a time in her (future) schedule. I said I would gladly go to the cinema with her. However it was a time of the lecture to start and she said we can talk about it after the lecture. I was on tenterhooks all lecture, second guessing if she really wants to go. We didn't discuss it yet because we didn't have the opportunity to talk one on one, except for one when we were heading towards the subway station and we were quiet all the way. We only waved goodbye when we parted ways on the subway.
I don't know how to discuss it further with her when I won't have too much opportunities to see her IRL. Exams are starting soon. I was thinking to ask her via Messenger. On the other hand I think more polite would be to discuss it face to face. What do you guys think?
Sidenote: Should I tell her that I have a crush on her? And if so, when would be a good time to do it?
