I’m posting this because I want to know if this is something other people notice too or if it’s just me. I’ve got a pretty big friend group with people from different countries, and something I’ve realized is that when it comes to dating in the US, being foreign seems to open a lot of doors. I’m not totally sure why.
Two of my friends in particular, one from Puerto Rico and one from Italy, do insanely well with women. And it’s not like they’re super good-looking or super charismatic. They barely speak English and their accents are really strong. When I look at myself, I notice something similar but flipped. I find a lot of foreign women more attractive just because they’re foreign. I don’t really know why. Maybe it’s curiosity, maybe it’s some kind of “exotic” factor or whatever. I once asked ChatGPT about it and it mentioned some study about people subconsciously being attracted to different gene pools, but I’m not sure I fully buy that explanation.
So I wanted to ask you all: has anyone else experienced something like this? Is this a common thing, or is it just a personal preference I happen to have, and I’ve just run into other people who feel the same way?
PS: if you reply, say whether you’re male or female first. I’m curious how the answers differ between genders.
