My friend has been telling me she likes me and making jokes about shes my wife and there were several times her friends would force her to come speak to me but we just never ended up meeting

Should i be the one trying to start a convo with her? I recently requested her on ig and im thinking about dming her but the problem is i dont know what to say other then hey. I dont want to sound creepy by saying "hey i heard you like me". If i say that directly she will just get creeped out or it will make her more even shy.
