Texting is not always a good indicator of someone's personality in person

I've seen a lot of people insist that when it comes to online dating, they won't meet up with someone who sends boring messages. They need to feel a "spark" over text before meeting.

For what it's worth, every first date I've had with a woman who was untalkative or boring over text turned out to be talkative and engaging in person. My last girlfriend's texts before our first date were really dry. If I had lived by this rule of "no boring texters," I never would have met her.

On the flip side, there was only one time I truly felt texting chemistry with someone new, and it completely fell flat when we met in person.

Obviously if the person you're talking to exhibits red flags like being creepy, rude, pushy, etc., then move on.

But being charismatic through written word is a specific skill that not everybody possesses, regardless of how charismatic they might be in person. Just something to consider.
