Last Saturday, I (19 M) bit the bullet and asked a girl (19 F) I became good friends with for the past few months out. It was the scariest thing I've ever done. She's really sweet and nice that for the longest time I thought she was just being nice to me but decided to take a chance and ask her. I told her that I hoped that regardless of what happened, I hoped we could stay friends.
She seemed surprised and was quiet for a bit. She said thank you, but that she was kind of seeing someone right now. I was ok with that, but then she said that it wasn't a no. She had a meeting to go to but she said that she would talk to me about it later.
It has almost been a week and she hasn't reached out to me. I'm afraid that I screwed things up with her as a friend. I honestly think she said that as a subtle "no" but was too nice to say it. I wanted to give her time to process it because things might be complicated for her, but it has been eating me up inside. I don't know whether or not I should text her about it or just wait. But if I continue to wait, how much longer should I wait? Any advice would help me out right now...
