How much communication do women expect at the beginning stages of a relationship?

I’m talking about between the first several dates. I’ve gotten in trouble for not communicating very much and ignoring Snapchats/ texts for one or two days. Do most potential partners expect constant, or at least consistent, communication? I also don’t tend to call. Is that a problem?
