Should I stop asking women where they’re from

I’ve noticed about 60% of the time I ask this question I get left on read/delivered, maybe it’s just my luck but tbh I don’t actually care where they’re from I just use it to move the conversation a long but maybe it sounds creepy? Or maybe it’s just a coincidence and I would’ve been left on delivered no matter what I said? Idk what do you guys think o
