I met this girl about three weeks ago. Our first date was great, and our second date last week was even better. We watched a movie, we kissed, I spent the night. We made plans for a third date immediately. She was repeatedly excited about seeing me again; she said she couldn’t wait to kiss me again, and reminded me several times that her pillow/bed smelled like me. It was very sweet, and I was excited for what was to come.
However, during the date last week, my ex-girlfriend was blowing my phone up. We ended our relationship at the beginning of the year, and for at least another month, we’re living together. She was livid that I was on a date. I ignored it until I couldn’t anymore, and it made me annoyed. But I didn’t take anything out on this girl. We stayed up until nearly 4 a.m. chatting.
She expressed nervousness a few days ago. I understood and we said we’d talk about it in-person. We were still texting constantly until this weekend when it went quiet (starting Saturday). We talked a bit still, but not like before.
When I arrived for our third date tonight, she looked at me, apologized, and told me she couldn’t go through with it because of the situation with my ex. She again apologized, wished me luck, and we left.
Before you say it—yes, I’m planning to move out. It’s money-based and nothing else. I understand her being comfortable, and I was really, really hoping I could provide reassurance tonight. Oh well.
I’m just kind of stunned at how quick it ended. I was really starting to like her, and I felt she was too. I just don’t know what to say. It sucks.
