I'm 26M and I have had a second date with someone twice in my entire life. I'm not particularly attractive and I'm below average height (5'6"). I'm not saying this to suggest that it's the reason behind my lack of dating success, I'm just saying it to give context and to explain why maybe my personality and social skills need to be a bit stronger. I think the problem is ultimately one of confidence and how my lack of it bleeds through into conversation, but in my experience confidence in social situations comes from frequent practice in the form of regular chatting. I don't want to get into too much detail.
The bottom line is I'm not going to stop dating just because I don't have everything figured out, and I genuinely do not know what being flirty looks like from a straight man. Do I make fun of my date? Do I do bits? Do I reference popular television or movies or talk about sex or something? I really have no idea so any and all suggestions will be taken to heart.
To get ahead of some comments: I'm sure every woman is different, but I do think western culture has created some commonalities with regard to what straight (or bi or pansexual) women like their male dates to sound like.
