Recently began seeing a guy whom I really like. He is funny, we have much in common and overall is a good person.
But I can't help but feel I am being compared to his exes. Without giving too much away. He was in a long term relationship with a girl who he loved and still has love for. But the reason he told me he dumped her was because the were incompatible. This was years of living together though. And once again not to get too specific but she got him through a very difficult time in his life and then he just dumped her.
This girl was a saint on earth and he didn't even want to build a future with her. So what chance do I have? I am already insecure enough but he constantly brings up this girl. And not just her but other exes.
I on the other hand don't have many exes to bring up and I feel they are irrelevant at this point. I just can't help but feel he is not the type to want to commit to a girl especially after what happened with his amazing ex who treated him wonderfully.
I guess my question is am I just being neurotic or are these legit red flags? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much.
